I bought my first SI On-Board / Vulcan scale system for a Circle R side dump.  At the time, the side dump was one of  the first in the area.  We hired the truck and trailer out and soon found that we were being massively overloaded.  The operators would see the large bed and fill it full.  After numerous broken springs and a large DOT fine, I knew that we could not possible train every operator about the proper loading of the side dump.  I did some research and found SI On-Board and Vulcan scales.  We bought the system for the trailer, and soon broken springs were no longer an issue.  When the read out read 80K the driver drove off, no more overweight tickets.  The system saves overweight tickets, saves on equipment wear and tear.  It really does pay for itself.
